Catching Up

Quite a lot has happened in the three years that have passed since I abandoned the ol blog.

Two big things:
First, Adam started working at a local university! It has been a great job and he loves it! He's been there exactly two years this week!
Second, we added a new member to our family! Mr. Levi joined us in March 2013. He is one of the happiest little people I've ever met. And he has some serious ball skills for the young age of 17 months!

Obviously more has transpired, life has a funny way of not slowing down. Kennedy is in 5th grade this year and Aubrey is in second. Haden is an official preschooler. I was scrolling back through the blog and reading over my post about keeping a toddler busy during school time. Whew, anyone have any advice on keeping a 4 year old quiet and busy?? Oh, and a toddler? Because I can't figure it out and it's making school realllllllly difficult right now.

And not fun.

Did I just say that out loud?

Well it's really not. It's hard. And I keep telling myself it's just a "season" but really it feels like Elsa has set off an eternal winter.

I want to stuff some chocolate in my face.....

It's not always not fun but this first week back has been hard. Praying it will get easier and that the kids will learn much!

See, we do have fun and I am so thankful for these four precious kiddos!

When my biggest were younger and we had Christian to keep busy during school, we'd do a few things to help with our day. First, I always had school work that the bigs could do without me... Be it a few workbook pages (handwriting, spelling, whatnot)... they could get started with their work (without ME!) and it would help settle the house down. I would use that beginning time to play a game or do some sort of one-on-one activity with Christian. Once he had a little of my full attention, he wasn't so demanding the rest of the morning. We would save the hefty involved things like science and math to work on during post lunch nap/quiet times.

I realize with a first, I should have a second... but hey, I have teens and toddler and baby too. And haven't finished my first cup of coffee!

Praying for a very successful and amazing school year for you! God will bless it, we just have to press on. :)
